昭和34年。
今から67年前に作られた大幕の修理をさせていただきました。
自分が生まれるよりも、さらに20年近くも前。
その時代の職人が残した仕事、その時代を生き抜いてきた幕に、今こうして自分が手を入れられることは、なかなか感慨深いものがあります。
この感覚は、簡単に言葉にはできません。
今回は簡易的な修理ではありますが、まだまだ現役で使い続けられそうです。
受け継がれてきたものを、次の時代へ。
布にも、仕事にも、まだ役目は残っています。

I repaired a large curtain made 67 years ago.
Nearly 20 years before I was born.
It's quite moving to be able to work on a curtain that has endured the work of artisans from that era and survived that era.
It's hard to put into words this feeling.
This was a simple repair, but it looks like it will continue to be used for a long time.
Passing on what has been passed down to the next generation.
The fabric and the work still have a purpose.
